Zaitsev, Aleksei

Aleksei Zaitsev (b. 1995) from Outokumpu, North Karelia, is one of the most promising young piano artists in Finland. His most important teachers have been Irina Zahharenkova, as well as Hui-Ying Li-Tawaststjerna and Teppo Koivisto at the Sibelius Academy. Later, while living in Denmark, his artistic personality was greatly influenced by the Danish-Armenian concert pianist Marianna Shirinyan, who mentored Aleksei and invited him to perform with her at many international festivals.

Concerts as a chamber musician, recitalist and orchestral soloist have taken Aleksei to concert halls throughout Finland, the Nordic countries, the Netherlands, France, the United States and Japan. Aleksei enjoys both baroque and contemporary music and is a passionate interpreter of new music.
