The Chamber Choir Kampin Laulu is a group of highly-skilled Helsinki singers who, despite being amateurs, have an ambitious artistic mission and aim at performances of a professional standard. The emphasis in its repertoire, which ranges from the Renaissance to the present day, is on music of the 20th and 21st centuries. The choir actively commissions new music and has already premiered dozens of works in the course of its history. Examples of its success in European competitions include first prize in the Cork International Choral Festival in Ireland and the Béla Bartók International Choir Competition in Hungary, and prizes in the Harald Andersén Chamber Choir Competition in Finland and the Tallinn International Choir Festival in Estonia. The choir’s conductor and Artistic Director is Saara Aittakumpu.
