Description
Aleksei Zaitsev (b. 1995) originally from Ouotokumpu, a small town in the Finnish region of Northern Karelia, is one of the most promising young piano artists to emerge from Finland. His most important teachers include Irina Zahharenkova, Hui-Ying Liu-Tawaststjerna and Teppo Koivisto at the Sibelius Academy. Later, while living in Denmark, his artistic personality was greatly influenced by the Danish-Armenian pianist Marianna Shirinyan, who mentored and invited Aleksei to perform with her at many international festivals. Concerts as a chamber musician, recitalist and orchestral soloist have taken Aleksei to concert halls all over Finland, the Nordic countries, the Netherlands, France, the USA and Japan. Aleksei enjoys playing music from baroque to contemporary and is a passionate interpreter of new music.
Aleksei’s artistic work and career have been generously supported by the Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation, Paulo Foundation, Pro Musica Foundation, Finnish Cultural Foundation North Karelia Fund and Martin Wegelius Memorial Foundation.
