Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) Vol. 2
French series 4-6
Prelude and fugue in A minor
Air
Mika Väyrynen, accordion
Accordion wizard Mika Väyrynen's J.S. recorded in Ylistaro church. The second part of the Bach disc series sees the light of day. The novelty disc features the remaining three series 4-6 of the French series, Prelude and fugue in A minor and Ai r.
The last three series 4-6 of the French series are dominated by brighter, more optimistic and happier tones than the initial series. Mika Väyrynen writes the following in his work description text: "The sixth suite (E major) is presented on this disc in the form according to the manuscript of Bach's student Heinrich Nicolaus Gerber (1702-1775). In that manuscript, the series begins with the Prelude, which can also be found in Bach's previously composed work collection Das Wohltemperierte Klavier I (BWV 854/1). However, on this disc, the Petit Menuet, the last movement in the manuscript, is placed in the sections Menuet between polonaise and Bourrée. This is how the sixth series ends with a fast-paced Gigue, like the other series."
The Prelude and Fugue in A minor BWV 543, originally written for the organ, reflects the composer's youthful enthusiasm, enthusiasm and strong inspiration.
The album closes with one of the most famous pieces in the world, Air from the orchestral series No. 3 in D major BWV 1068.
