About this release

J-P Piirainen weaves together Finnish tradition, guitar music and his unique voice as a composer in the 2020s.
In order to find unheard of music, he has followed his own paths by developing the only instrument of its kind, the guitele, in which the acoustic guitar and the traditional Finnish instrument kantele are combined into one instrument. One of the world's most popular and common musical instruments meets a traditional musical instrument that breathes Finnish mythology and history.
Skillful guitar playing combines with the attention-grabbing sound of the kantele, creating a completely new musical world. J-P Piirainen's music simultaneously paints a picture of the modern world and the ancient peace of the forests of Karelia.
