The motto of the string orchestra piece Tre älvdalsbilder speaks of a sensitive experience: "Roads, trees, roots, stones, sky, the sounds of the river in April - the sounds of October, all this has been captured by the ear..." Under the direction of Juha Kankaa, the Central Ostrobothnia Chamber Orchestra hits the mood of the music without fail. Among the songs, Toner performed by Anu Koms and Huhtikuu's last evening stand out. Divertimento Pulakka II's fresh timbre and sparse expressive richness are moving."

The album’s title is “Reflections on a River Valley”, an expansion on Three Pictures of a River Valley, a 12-minute three-movement orchestral suite (the OCO is strings only on this album).

These are all basically either nature-portraits or derived from folksong and would fit happily into the genre of light music.
