About this release

"Randalu is known as a Mozart pianist, and on the album he plays three of Mozart's freshest concertos, numbers 11-13. The Tallinn Chamber Orchestra is led by his long-time collaborator Juha Kangas. When playing together with the orchestra, you notice that in the mid-tempo opening parts, Randalu's tempo fluctuates in a way that is not rubato but lack of pulse. It is mostly about the impact of runs and rhythmic patterns. Juha Kangas' dance-like firmness however, the handprint supports Randalu well, and the orchestra's own parts are full of joyfully executed details."

”Randalu tunnetaan Mozart-pianistina, ja levyllä hän soittaa kolme Mozartin raikkaimpiin kuuluvaa konserttoa, numerot 11-13. Tallinnan kamariorkesteria johtaa hänen pitkäaikainen yhteistyökumppaninsa Juha Kangas. Yhteissoitossa orkesterin kanssa huomaa, että keskitempoisissa avausosissa Randalun tempo ailahtelee tavalla, joka ei ole rubatoa vaan sykkeen puutetta. Lähinnä kyse on juoksutusten ja rytmikuvioiden iskutuksesta. Juha Kankaan tanssillisen kiinteä kädenjälki kuitenkin tukee Randalua hyvin, ja orkesterin omat osuudet ovat täynnä riemukkaasti toteutettuja yksityiskohtia.”

”Virolaispianisti Kalle Randalun ja Juha Kankaan Mozart-yhteistyöllä on pitkät juuret, mutta Alban uutuus on kaksikon ensimmäinen yhteinen levy. Myös uuden musiikin Kamariorkesteriin Kankaalla on tiivis suhde. Intensiivinen yhteinen pohja kuuluu levyn hioutuneisuudessa. Mozartin ns. ”Tilauskonsertot” op. 4 (1782 – 1783) voivat vaikuttaa hieman vaatimattomilta verrattuna säveltäjän kypsempiin mestarikonserttoihin, mutta esittäjät tekevät niiden yksinkertaisesta kauneudesta voimavaran ja tuovat…
