The compositions of Ville Matvejeff and Joel Järventausta play in the Naava release
Jyväskylä Sinfonia's album brings together important works from two strong authors of Finnish music: composers Ville Matvejeff and Joel Järventau. The violinist Petri Aarnio will be heard as a soloist on the album.
New and award-winning orchestral music
The album features both Matvejeff's and Järventautta's orchestral works in a variety of ways. Matvejeff's Violin Concerto was premiered at the Helsinki Musiikkitalo in 2011 and is now playing on the album with Petri Aarnio's interpretation.
In addition, Matvejeff's composition Seaside Rendezvous will be heard, which began at Jukka-Pekka Saraste's request in honor of Mozart's 250th anniversary.
From Joel Järventautta's production, the album includes his internationally awarded piece Ripped Tapestry, which won the French Île de Créations composition competition in 2019.
The title piece of the album is Järventautta's piece Naava, where the colors and darkness of the Finnish forest sound.
