New Electro-acoustic album, Luonnos by Ilari Hongisto, takes the listener to the middle of nature! For one, luonnos (draft) means an outline, for another, a dialectal version of the word "in nature". However, the word contains the most important information: every work on the album consists of the sounds of nature. On this fascinating album, you can hear insects (Taivas alla), birds (Kaakkoismuutto) and frogs (Matkalla). With Soiva kivi, which closes the album, folk musician and kantele player Arja Kastinen improvises the rhythms on the ringing rock stone on Nötö island in the Archipelago National Park. Kastinen also leads the Aino-tytöt (Aino Girls), who together created the song's Kantele parts. The works are composed for surround listening, that's why the album is in Blu-ray format. The Blu-ray disc also takes you to nature with the videos adapted to each composition, based on Finnish nature pictures. You can listen to the stereo versions of the compositions on a regular CD player. Find out more and listen to samples of the works at www.luonnos.net.
