The Nightingale is a work composed for a narrator and chamber orchestra, where the story of the nightingale is told by both the narrator and the music. The composer himself says the following about his work: "All the people and events have their own tonality. The real nightingale is a flute, the artificial nightingale a synthesizer, the old Chinese emperor is a slightly shrill cello and the arrogant courtier Tsing Pei is a double bass played on the keyboard. In addition, the little kitchen maid, the courtier who is afraid of being knocked in the stomach, cows, frogs, ghosts and death also have their own his music."
