Percussion ensemble Osuma Ensemble's collaboration with She-E Wu began in 2015, when Wu was a judge at the Majaoja percussion competition in Tampere and performed together with Osuma at the competition's closing concert. After the concert, the idea of a joint album was born, which everyone can now hear.
Taiwanese-born, now living in America, She-e Wu is one of the world's most respected percussionists. In addition to concerts, he composes and works as a teacher at the Manhattan School of Music in New York and as a professor at Northwestern University in Chicago.
Osuma Ensemble, founded in 2006, is the only professional percussion ensemble in Finland. Osuma performs actively and has commissioned new percussion compositions from, among others, the following Finnish composers: Lotta Wennäkoski, Tiina Myllärinen, Tim Ferchen and Arttu Takalo.
