"The old tradition, changing the compositions of works, is good with one condition; the arranger, the player must not only be brave but also absolutely musical and knowledgeable in his field. The Goldberg Variations have also experienced many instrumental experiments. Now the violoncello da spalla, a shoulder cello, also plays. The similarity of the ensemble's instruments to each other is an advantage. There is little dispersion, the individual outputs are natural without breaking the whole. The intimate atmosphere lasts rasps and strong bow strokes. Minna Pensola (violin), Antti Tikkanen (viola) and Sergey Malov (violoncello da spalla) dare to present themselves and leave a mark."

"The first album of the new Russian-Finnish band La Compagnie Pochette contains Bach's Goldberg Variations with a new lineup that has never been recorded before. ”Tavaksi palannut perinne, teosten kokoonpanojen muuntelu, tekee hyvää yhdellä ehdolla; sovittajan, soitintajan tulee olla paitsi rohkea myös ehdottoman musikaalinen ja alaansa perehtynyt. Goldberg-muunnelmatkin on kokenut monta soittimellista kokeilua. Nyt mukana soi myös violoncello da spalla, olkapääsello. Yhtyeen soitinten likeisyys toisiinsa on etu. Hajonta on vähäinen, yksittäiset ulostulot luontevia kokonaisuuden rikkoutumatta. Intiimi tunnelma kestää ryöpsähdykset ja…
