This well-curated disc recorded by the Zagros Ensemble in 2002 contains some pivotal early Pohjola works including his String Quartet No 3 (which together with Game Over also included opened the door to a new-aesthetic); his prize-winning New York New York; and A Night at the Opera (2002), a compression of operatic technique, aesthetic and dramatic history into three brief movements for soprano and string quartet.
